SPMS Gifted Students Shine at Envirothon

This is the image for the news article titled SPMS Gifted Students Shine at EnvirothonThe South Park Gifted Teams, consisting of 5th, 7th and 8th grade, competed in the Southwestern PA Envirothon Academic Tournament. Competing in a field of 21 schools of all sizes, the 5th grade gifted team claimed overall first place! The team was led by Guiliano Cieslak, Olivia Parry, Claire Andrews, Owen Stockey, and Riley Sweeney. The South Park teams were led by gifted teacher Mr. Anderson.

Envirothon is a natural resource environmental education program that combines classroom learning and outdoor activities. The competition is a fun, academic event that challenges students to think critically about the natural world and their roles in it.

The South Park School District ins incredibly proud of the students and their continued success. Earlier this year, they competed in the Science Bowl and claimed the silver medal. They have also shined in other educational events, such as Brain Drain.
