Open House 2025 Information

Schools in the South Park School District will host Open Houses for school families from September 8-10. Please read the information below for each of our schools, and pay particular attention to details regarding dismissal changes on those days.
South Park High School
South Park High School’s Open House is scheduled for Monday, September 8 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, South Park High School students will be dismissed two hours early (at 12:20 p.m.). Steel Center students will still be transported to Steel Center at their usual time and will follow a regular schedule at Steel Center on September 8.
Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to walk their child’s schedule and attend a brief overview of each class period by their teachers. Parents/guardians are asked to access their child’s schedule in the PowerSchool Parent Portal and have it with them during the Open House. Schedules will also be available for pick-up in students’ homerooms at the start of the evening (6:30 p.m.). Bells will signal the transition to the next class. These overview sessions are brief (8-10 minutes) and will discuss the course and expectations. Our teachers won’t be able to discuss individual student concerns, needs, etc. the night of open house. However, they will be happy to have a more in-depth conversation with you during a scheduled meeting or phone call outside of their school’s open house. Additionally, later this month, we’ll make online forms available for scheduling parent/teacher conferences in November.
If you have more than one high school student, parents/guardians are encouraged to follow one schedule. However, there will be enough time to visit some of the classes of the other student.
*Please note, South Park High School will dismiss at its regular time on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. However, due to an early dismissal at South Park Elementary Center, some high school buses likely will be delayed that day. This is due to longer elementary routes taking place before the high school dismisses at its normal time.

South Park Middle School
South Park Middle School’s Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, September 9, South Park Middle School students will be dismissed two hours early (at 12:57 p.m.).
Our teachers will be meeting with many families that night, so the middle school’s open house is a meet-and-greet format. We want to make sure all families who attend are able to meet their children’s teachers. Therefore, our teachers won’t be able to discuss individual student concerns, needs, etc. the night of open house. However, they will be happy to have a more in-depth conversation with you during a scheduled meeting or phone call outside of their school’s open house. Additionally, later this month, we’ll make online forms available for scheduling parent/teacher conferences in November.
Your middle school child is welcome to attend the open house with you. After meeting the teachers, your child can take you on a self-guided tour of the school. The PTO and other middle school groups will be present to provide families with information.
The middle school open house is always well-attended, and parking is limited. All family parking will be available in the front of the middle school (where bus dropoff takes place). Door 1 will open promptly at 6:30 p.m. Overflow parking will be available in the grass field above the main parking lot. In the event weather prevents us from using the grass field, you will be notified on Tuesday about alternate parking arrangements. Please follow the directions of district staff who will be directing traffic that evening. We ask for your patience while on campus that evening.
If your schedule permits, please consider attending the last hour of open house. Traditionally, the second hour isn’t as busy, and you may not need to wait in line outside the school to enter the building.

South Park Elementary Center
Hello, Rockstars! South Park Elementary Center is hosting a One Night Only Event – Open House 2025 – from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. And the SPEC Eagles have been granted an All Access Pass!
On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, South Park Elementary Center will begin dismissal at 1:15 p.m. (This is approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes earlier than usual.) Authorized pick-up drivers are asked to be at South Park Elementary Center by this time. Students should arrive at their assigned bus stop approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes earlier than usual. Please note that the dismissal time is slightly earlier than what was listed in the district calendar mailed to families this summer.
Our teachers will be meeting with many families that night, so we will be using a meet-and-greet format. The elementary center open house is always well-attended, and parking is limited. Parking will be available in the main lot and overflow parking will be available at the high school. We will have buses available to shuttle families from the high school lot and take them back to their vehicles. The first shuttle will depart the high school at 6:25 p.m., and the last shuttle will depart the elementary center at 8:25 p.m. Handicap parking will be reserved on the side of the elementary center building.
Your child is welcome to attend the open house with you. After meeting their teacher(s), your child can take you on a self-guided tour of the school.
SPEC Eagles are invited to take part in the “My School Rocks and Rolls Dance Party” in the front of the school during Open House with their back-up singers (SPEC principals). And their adoring fans (SPEC teachers) will be asking them for their autographs during the event. There also will be information stations set up in the cafeteria by school and community groups. You are invited to stop in!
