Health Services
School Nurses are pivotal in South Park schools as, together, we work to ensure the health, wellbeing, and success of every student. Students who are healthy and supported are ready to learn.
School Nurses provide services as required by the Pennsylvania School Code and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The role of a School Nurse goes beyond treating cuts and scrapes. They play active roles in mandated screenings for students in all grade-levels. They assess, diagnose, and treat students’ illnesses and injuries. They work with families and school and private physicians to ensure the best treatment and care of students, in and out of school. They manage and control acute and chronic diseases. And they oversee the administration of medication to students throughout the school day.
Every day, our school nurses work to provide the best health services to the students they serve. They rely on up-to-date and accurate information from families. If your child has a new health concern, please be sure to notify the school nurse.
