The Board of School Directors of South Park School District serves as the governing body of the school district, overseeing the functioning of the district. The Board takes official action as required by federal and state law, regulations, and Board policy. This action includes the adoption of an annual budget, levying and assessing local taxes, approving the hiring and compensation of personnel, adopting planned instruction, and appointing a superintendent to manage day-to-day operations of the district.

The Board acts as the general agent of the people of the South Park School District in the matter of public education. It establishes educational goals for the students of the district and governs a program of education to meet those goals.

The members of the Board of School Directors are volunteer members who are elected officials.

The Board of School Directors regularly meets the second Thursday of each month, with the exception of July, in which no meeting is scheduled, and December. All meetings will commence at 6:30 p.m., prevailing time, and will be held in the cafeteria at South Park High School, 2005 Eagle Ridge Drive, South Park, PA 15129. Changes in meeting dates, times, and locations do occur and are posted to the district’s website.
