The South Park School District Board of Directors named Mr. Wayne Gdovic the superintendent of the South Park School District on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

Mr. Gdovic comes to the South Park School District from the South Allegheny School District where he was named the superintendent in 2010 after serving as the acting superintendent for one year. 

Before serving as the superintendent of the South Allegheny School District, Mr. Gdovic was the district’s director of elementary education from 2006-2009. He was a principal in the Moon Area School District from 2004-2006 and in the South Allegheny School District from 2002-2004. With South Allegheny, Mr. Gdovic was an assistant principal from 2000-2002, dean of students from 1999-2000 and athletic director from 1995-2000. He also was an in-school intervention teacher and health and physical education teacher at South Allegheny.

Mr. Gdovic received a bachelor’s degree and Master of Education from the University of Pittsburgh. While at the University of Pittsburgh, he earned his superintendent’s letter of eligibility.

“The success of every student is always the goal,” Mr. Gdovic said. “That success is achieved through quality, challenging instruction in a safe environment and positive relationships with students, parents, staff members and the community.”

Mr. Gdovic received the 2011 Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators Award for Leadership in Public Education. Recipients of the award are honored for their commitment to public education, the profession of school administration and their colleagues.
