Two months ago today, schools across Pennsylvania were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, your homes have become classrooms where learning continued remotely. We cannot thank you enough for your continued patience and flexibility during this transition. We understand the challenges remote learning can pose; however, our students, families, faculty, and staff have stepped up to meet these challenges with creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

As we near the end of this academic year, we wanted to share with you some modifications to the school calendar for the next few weeks. District administrators believe these adjustments will help our students and faculty close out this school year strong.

 Grade 12:

The final day of instruction for seniors will be Friday, May 22. From Tuesday, May 26 to Thursday, May 28, faculty will work with seniors who still need to submit outstanding work prior to the finalization of grades for the fourth grading period. All work needs to be completed and turned in by Thursday, May 28.

Kindergarten to Grade 11:

The final day of instruction for students in kindergarten through eleventh grade will be Friday, May 29. From Monday, June 1 to Thursday, June 4, faculty will work with students who still need to submit outstanding work prior to the finalization of grades for the fourth grading period.

Information about report card availability in Home Access Center for the fourth grading period will be shared with families in June.

In the coming days and weeks, your building principal will be sharing schedules and procedures for the drop-off of educational materials and the pick-up of personal belongings still in our school buildings. This will take place after instruction wraps up for the academic year. Those plans are still being finalized and are being crafted to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

Once again, thank you for everything you have done to help the learning continue in South Park. We’ll continue to share additional information with you when we have it.
